Dear Imad, Dear all,
We are all thinking at what is next, in particular how to maintain our spoliated heritage during years of colonialism followed by false independance. How to change things? getting rid from frustration, fear, corruption and convince our children that they are capable to build what our generation couldn't, chosing to escape far from state terrorism and its ugly harassment.
During my last visit to Syria, I discussed with many friends to promote social networking and focus on some priorities like women and children protection. I visited one of these NGO's categories like SOS where you could find branches everywhere in Europe. SOS was created after the second world war to protect abandoned children. We have to start our revolution with educating our people, provide them healthy life and improve their life conditions.
Imad proposed in one of his email the following:
"that we as a group can do something meaningful in Syria for the young college generation, whether through passing our experience or networking them with our peers to improve their chances for the future. Also the system of passing from year to year at public universities is still based on the low % that is set for the maximum number (such as 20% of the class can pass), and it is destroying the future of many who do not have the means to go to private universities to bypass this system. The "full year" is still in place in lieu of the "Semester" system in the US, and it is a prescription for failure when subjects are carried year to year."
Another initiative is carried out by Joumana Al Jabri:" TEDx  (Technology Education Design X) RAMALLAH, PALESTINE  ;TEDxRamallah is happening on 16 April 2011 in Ramallah and Beirut ->What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. <

We  have a lot of work to do in order to protect our heritage and  build a modern and emancipated country. Should I consider the social network mlfcham a sort of catalyst, an integrator , tracking and promoting some of our efforts? It is still earlier to predict the role of such an instrument.

With my regards
